Modelling the AMS60 – Part 4

The final part… yeahhhh – IN PROGRESS

And remember, you can get your own 3D-print files of the model on wargaming3d.

You should have all your components fully painted and are now ready to start placing all the components on the ship. Some parts should be placed on per-defined locations. Other parts you can decide yourself, I noticed there are many small difference between the different ships in the Beemster class Minesweepers. And also over time I noticed difference, so there is no real good or wrong I think. I tried to use the more early layout of the Hr.Ms.Beemster.

I have include a number of pictures of my progress, no detailed explanation. All is now up to your own imagination and modelling skills. Checkout some pictures of the Beemster class mine-sweepers on the the Dutch defense archive website.
I was not able to place all the components without sometimes getting glue on the deck etc. So I had to clean up and sometimes apply some paint to correct my errors.

Before placing the rear-mast make sure you added the boom connection part correctly. The boom needs to rest in the small support on the chimney at the port side of the ship. The boom can be placed after you placed the rear-mast and the chimney.

Still need to paint chimney.

I did use some brass piping in the rear-cable setup. A PLA part is provided also, but using the brass pipe (which I had available) is a bit more easy. I also did not paint the small guide rollers on the left part (yellow encircled), to give the model a bit more variation.

Adding the axel for the large cable reel is a bit of a struggle. In the end I made 2 pieces of rod. About 1 cm long. I put in on part in the reel then placed the reel and used the second rod from the port-side to push the first rod out to the starboard side and lock it in place. Maybe in the end it is more simple to place the main cable reel before you place anything on the ship. The reel at the top is simple. You can just slide the central from the starboard side in the reel and glue the end of the rod to the support. The reel will still be able to rotate, not the rod though. Not really needed, but nice anyway.

On the rear deck starboard you will need to cut a small piece from the support mount of the floating device before you can place the part. (Yellow encircled)

IN PROGRESS…. MORE PICTURES TO COME …

Adding cables and chains

The anchors need a chain 🙂

Railing cables will need to be added.

Antenna will be added.
